TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons host the Toledo Mud Hens in the second game of a four-game series from Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). After surrendering two runs in the ninth last night, the Herd lost by a score of 4-2. Buffalo will host Charlotte for a four-game set beginning on Friday night.

vs. MUD HENS: The Bisons are now 2-3 against the Mud Hens this season. The clubs split a four-game series at Fifth Third Field, June 1-4. Since their return to the International League in 1998, the Herd is 31-26 (.544) against the Mud Hens at Coca-Cola Field.

HUGE HEFNER : RHP JEREMY HEFNER takes the mound tonight for his ninth start of the season. This will be his first start at Coca-Cola Field since May 15 against Gwinnett. In five starts at home, the righty is 2-2 with 2.84ERA in 31.2 innings of work. Hefner has gone at least seven innings in five of his eight starts this season.

LOEWEN: INF ADAM LOEWEN has homered in back to back games. Loewen hit a solo shot last night and is now batting .317 (13-41) with four home runs and 11RBI in nine games since returning from the disabled list on July 4. Loewen now has 20RBI in 21 total games with the Bisons this season.

J-BAY: Mets' OF JASON BAY went 0-2 with two walks in last night's contest against Toledo, his third MLB injury rehab game with the Bisons. In his three appearances with the Herd, Bay has hit .300 (3-10) with four walks and two runs scored. On June 15, Bay suffered a concussion in a game with the Mets.

BISON BITS: OF FRED LEWIS' extended his hitting streak to seven games with a double last night. He is hitting .321 (9-28) during the stretch with three homers and eight RBI. Lewis leads the Bisons in batting average (.296) and stolen bases (18)...RHP MATT HARVEY tossed five innings before giving up a hit in a no-decision last night (6.2IP, 3H, 2R, 2ER, 4BB, 4K). The righty is second in the IL with 106 strikeouts and eighth with a 3.34ERA...INF JOSH SATIN has drawn a walk in five straight games and 10 of his last 11 contests (14 total walks). His .391 on-base percentage is 4th-best in the IL.

METS UPDATE : The Mets were off yesterday. New York will begin a three-game series tonight from Nationals Park in Washington (7:05 p.m.). Former Bisons LHP JON NIESE takes the hill for the Mets. New York is in third place in the NL East division, six games behind the Nationals.
