Alaska Aces News Release

Thomas Heemskerk made 32 saves and Kory Falite scored the only goal of the game early in the third period on Saturday night, as the San Francisco Bulls edged the Alaska Aces 1-0 in Game Two of the Western Conference Quarterfinals series from Sullivan Arena. The best-of-seven series is now tied 1-1. Game Three will be Thursday night in San Francisco at 6:15pm AKT. All Aces games can be heard on NewsTalk 103.7FM and 750AM KFQD. Saturday night featured another quick pace to the first period, with Alaska outshooting San Francisco 11-5. Heemskerk, settled in immediately after being pulled in Friday's game one and stopped everything he faced en route to the shutout. The Aces continued to outshoot San Francisco in the second period adding 16 more shots, however neither team found the back of the net. The game went scoreless into the third period.

Exactly five minutes into the third period, Falite broke the tie. After two straight Bulls shots were blocked, the puck deflected to the bottom of the right circle where Falite wristed a shot past Gerald Coleman. The goal was enough as Heemskerk added five third period saves to his resume for his - and the Bulls - first postseason victory.

Gerald Coleman (1-1) suffered the loss, making 17 saves on 18 shots. Thomas Heemskerk (1-1) earned the win, making 32 saves on 32 shots. The Aces went 0-7 on the power play, while the Bulls went 0-6. The Aces outshot the Bulls 32-18 in the game.

The series now shifts to the Cow Palace in San Francisco for three straight games on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. If necessary, Game Six would be back at Sullivan Arena on Tuesday, April 16.
