HeatWave announce corporate, season ticket sale
September 13, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Sacramento Heatwave News Release
The Fresno Heatwave Professional Basketball Franchise announce their Corporate Sponsorship Packages, Season Ticket Sale Packages, General Season Ticket Prices, and their Founder's Club Package for the 2005-06 ABA Season, which tips-off this coming November. The Heatwave return for their third season in Fresno and will once again play at Selland Arena located in downtown Fresno, CA.
"We are very happy about being back and we're committed to giving Fresno and the Central Valley a professional basketball franchise it can be proud of. We had a lot of obstacles to overcome last season and we realize not everything ran as smoothly as we would have liked! We do feel we've put a lot of things in place this season to do a better job both on and off the playing court. We are very excited about this upcoming ABA season and we want to invite everyone out to see our new Heatwave Professional Basketball Team in action this season coming up!" says Heatwave Owner, Reggie Davis.
One of the most important things that the Heatwave put in place was new Director of Basketball Operations and Head Coach, Steve Tucker. Tucker comes to the Heatwave from within the ABA, where he was the General Manager and Head Coach of one of the best franchises in the ABA in the 2004-05 season. The Texas Tycoons compiled a 21-10 overall record during its inaugural season and was ranked as the #4 Team in the ABA Power Rankings for the '04-05 ABA Season. Tucker is widely recognized as the best coach in the ABA and has a reputation for rebuilding teams and programs on both the professional and collegiate levels. Coach Tucker is a veteran coach and his experience both on and off the court will be valuable to the Heatwave in a variety of ways as the ABA Professional Basketball Franchise works to establish itself among the elite and premiere franchises in the American Basketball Association this upcoming basketball season and into the future.
Tucker knows what has to be done to get the Heatwave on the right path to becoming one of the best teams and franchises in the ABA! "Anytime you come into a new situation, there will be different obstacles that you have to face, for no situation is the same. There are things that we have to overcome here in Fresno with the Heatwave! I think the first thing that people should see about this organization is that it is still here, which I think proves there is a great commitment to make this pro basketball franchise work, and that should be recognized! The past does not concern me at all regarding the history of this franchise, for there is nothing I can do to change that, but there's a heck of a lot I can do in leading this franchise into the future. I'm going to give this franchise strong leadership, direction, and my full commitment to getting the job done. We are going work with every entity within this city & the valley to make this the communities team and we hope everyone responds by giving their support to what we are working to achieve! We're going to have an outstanding team that I believe basketball fans will enjoy watching! We're also going to have a professional basketball franchise that is going be creditable in all areas and in the ways we do business within the community. I truly believe we will build something very special here with the Fresno Heatwave Professional Basketball Franchise within the ABA and a professional basketball franchise that Fresno and the Central Valley will be very proud in the future!"
The Heatwave Ticket Prices are set up to encourage families to come out and see high quality professional basketball. "We want to give everyone affordable prices, so that they can come out and see professional basketball in a family atmosphere. There are not many events that are affordable today in our society, so it is important to our professional sports franchise to make sure all people can get in and see a pro basketball game in a good seat where you can actually see what is going on! Whether it is a Season Ticket Holder or someone that has bought a Walk up Ticket, we want that person to feel they are getting value for their dollar." states Heatwave General Manager, Greg Chambers.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
