Sacramento Heatwave News Release

Sacramento, CA. In a game which saw the ABA Sacramento Heatwave locked in a close game early with the battle-tested Showtime team from Oakland, the Heatwave, after gaining leads as much as 10 points in the third quarter, held on for a close 81-80 win.

In their first and only exhibition game before next week's season opener at home against the ABA championship runner-up San Diego Wildcats, the Heatwave struggled early, but when the game was on the line, team captain, point guard Kenny Brunner took over and hit a three pointer, two free throws and completed a three point play by hitting the free throw after being fouled hard going to the basket.

Brunner led the Heatwave with 18 points, 10 assists and five rebounds. Former Pepperdine star and ABA All-Star Jimmy Miggins, aka the "Eye Doctor" finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Brunner is also a member of the And1 Mix Tape Tour know as "Bad Santa."

"Showtime was a great opponent and a great chance for us to see where we are," said owner/Head Coach Reggie Davis. "We'll see them again soon." For more information, visit www.sacramentoheatwave.com or visit www.abalive.com.
