Charlotte Knights News Release
(Fort Mill, SC) - Reliever Deunte Heath, who has appeared in five games so far this season for the Charlotte Knights, has been recalled to the Chicago White Sox, as announced today by Chicago. Heath, a member of Chicago's 40-man roster, was 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA over nine innings this year for the Knights. Heath takes the roster spot of RHP Gavin Floyd, who was placed on the disabled list by the White Sox.
The promotion to Chicago is the second of the season for Heath, who was also promoted to the White Sox on April 12. The 6'4" right-handed reliever appeared in one game for the White Sox back on April 13. In all, four players have earned promotions to Chicago this year. Infielder Tyler Greene, and outfielders Jordan Danks and Blake Tekotte were promoted to the White Sox earlier this month.
Last season, Heath posted a 4-3 record with a 1.48 ERA in 36 games (four starts) with Charlotte. He also pitched in three games with the White Sox in 2012 -- his first season in the Majors.
The Charlotte Knights will host the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders today in a doubleheader at Knights Stadium. Gates open at 12:00 p.m. and first pitch of game one is set for 1:15 p.m. All fans and dogs are invited out today for the Knights annual "Bark in the Ballpark". Special seating in the LLR and grass berm area will be set aside for dogs and their owners. Sunday's game also features "Family Day", thanks to BB&T.
Tickets for today's game are on-sale now and can be purchased by calling 704-357-8071 ext. 2106 or online at http://www.charlotteknights.com. Knights Baseball. Tradition Never Ends.
