Heat Sign Four to AHL-ECHL, Two-Way Pacts

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Heat announce today that they have signed forwards Westin Michaud and Ryan Olsen as well as goalies Matt Greenfield and Andrew Shortridge to two-way, AHL-ECHL contracts for the 2021-22 season.

Michaud, 25, signed with Stockton after playing in 18 games with the Manitoba Moose in 2020-21 and finishing with a goal, an assist and six penalty minutes in his first professional campaign. In five collegiate seasons, Michaud totaled 90 points (45g, 45a) in 149 games while spending four years at Colorado College and his final NCAA campaign in 2019-20 at the University of North Dakota.

Olsen, 27, makes his return to the AHL after spending the 2020-21 season in Germany's DEL2, where he tallied 48 points and 26 goals in 44 games with the EC Kassel Huskies. He had spent the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons with the San Antonio Rampage, posting 24 goals and 25 assists in 126 games. In total, Olsen has 82 points (41g, 41a) and 299 penalty minutes in 307 AHL games played.

BORN: Delta, British Columbia  DATE: March 25, 1994

HEIGHT: 6-2  WEIGHT: 194 lbs.

SHOOTS: Right

DRAFTED: 6th round (160th overall) in the 2012 NHL Draft

Greenfield, 26, enters his second professional season after going 11-9-4 with a 2.80 Goals Against Average and .916 Save Percentage with the Kansas City Mavericks in 2020-21. He earned league honors twice in his debut campaign, named ECHL Goaltender of the Week for January 25-31 and again for March 29-April 4. Prior to turning pro, Greenfield spent four years with the University of Calgary, where he went 32-16-2.

MATT GREENFIELD - GOALIE

BORN: Parkland, Florida  DATE: January 22, 1995

HEIGHT: 6-2  WEIGHT: 185 lbs.

Shortridge, 26, re-signed with the Heat after appearing in three games with Stockton a year ago, going 1-0-1 with a 1.58 Goals Against Average and .952 Save Percentage. With Kansas City in 2020-21, Shortridge went 7-5-1 with a 2.92 GAA and .905 SVP. Prior to turning pro in 2019-20, Shortridge posted 42 wins in three seasons with Quinnipiac University, finishing his collegiate tenure with a 1.97 GAA and .923 SVP.
