Abbotsford Heat News Release
Abbotsford, BC - The Abbotsford Heat announced today that they have released goaltender Thomas Heemskerk.
Heemskerk, a native of Chilliwack, BC, dressed for three games but did not appear in play with the Heat. Upon signing with Abbotsford, Heemskerk had played in 15 games with the Quad City Mallards (CHL), registering a 10-1-4 record along with a 2.36 GAA and a .923 save percentage.
The Heat will begin a five game road trip following the AHL All-Star break on Friday, February 14th against the Charlotte Checkers (AHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes) at 4:30pm. The Heat's next home game is set for Friday, February 28th against the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings).
