Harrisburg Heat News Release

Dallas, TX - The Harrisburg Heat's defense rebounded from a high-scoring defeat in Cleveland on Friday night, but the offense managed only three goals as the Heat fell by the score of 12-6 to the Dallas Sidekicks at Reunion Arena on Sunday night. The loss drops Harrisburg to 4-6 on the year and extends the Heat's current losing streak to three games.

The Heat's David Bascome struck early, taking a Martin Hernandez restart feed and beating Dallas keeper Sagu for a 2pg just 55 seconds into the game. Dallas veteran David Doyle answered at 3:51 with a deuce off a dish from Tatu. Sidekick Nick Stavrou wrapped up the first-quarter scoring when he pounded home a Larry Dube pass off the boards at 10:01 for a 4-2 Dallas lead after one.

Bascome notched his second goal of the game at 1:13 of the second, tapping in a loose ball in the box for a 4-4 tie. Patrick Shamu, however, restored the Sidekicks lead at 12:11 with a 2pg, and the hosts led 6-4 at the break. Defense continued to reign supreme in the third, with Tatu recording the only points of the quarter with a 2pg at 1:58, and Dallas held an 8-4 advantage heading into the fourth.

Harrisburg, 23-12 losers in Cleveland against the Force on Friday, began to think comeback when Genoni Martinez drilled a 2pg at 6:05 of the final quarter, making it 8-6 in favor of the Sidekicks. But just 22 seconds later David Doyle buried a 2pg down the slot and Dallas had regained the momentum and a 10-6 lead. Tatu struck again in short order, with a 2pg at 6:53, to make it 12-6, and the Heat failed to muster any points down the stretch with Martin Hernandez on as the sixth attacker as Dallas took the 12-6 win.

Raul Salas (0-3) takes the loss in net for the Heat, making 6 saves. Sagu (2-7) gets the win for the Sidekicks with 12 saves.
