Harrisburg Heat News Release

Milwaukee, WI - The Harrisburg Heat found itself trailing 13-4 at halftime and could not mount a successful second-half comeback, falling by a final score of 19-11 to the Milwaukee Wave at the Bradley Center on Saturday afternoon. With its fourth straight loss, Harrisburg falls to 9-13 on the season, while Milwaukee improves to 15-5. Chris Damico made his first start in goal for the Heat, making 16 saves in the defeat. Victor Nogueira gets the win for the Wave with 9 stops.

The Wave's Joe Reiniger put on a one-man show early, with 3pgs at 5:16 (on the power play) and 6:48 to make it 6-0, accounting for all the scoring in the first quarter. Harrisburg did not get on the board until 3:25 of the second quarter, when David Bascome scrapped for a 2pg to make it 6-2. Heat rookie Horacio Robledo followed with a 2pg of his own, at 6:07, when he rifled home the rebound of a Chris Morman drive, and it was 6-4.

Milwaukee's Johnny Torres ended the brief Heat run when he worked across the middle and pounded a 3pg - the Wave's third trey of the contest made it 9-4 at 7:35. Greg Howes made it 11-4 with a 2pg at 12:29, and Reiniger completed his hat trick at 13:20 when he one-timed a Todd Dusosky feed over Damico for a 13-4 lead, and the hosts held that commanding advantage at intermission.

A Heat comeback still seemed a possibility when Ze Roberto slid home a deuce at 1:44 of the third to make it 13-6, but after Harrisburg's Francisco Rodriguez was sent off for holding, the Wave converted their second power play chance of the night when Howes nudged home a 2pg at 5:16 to make it 15-6. Troy Dusosky increased that lead to 17-6 with a 2pg at 9:48. Harrisburg's Chris Morman threaded a 3pg past a screened Nogueira at 12:50 to make it 17-9, and the Heat trailed by eight heading into the fourth.

Genoni Martinez (a power play goal at 7:03) and Ato Leone (9:25) sandwiched 2pgs for the Heat around a deuce from the Wave's Brian Loftin at 7:15, and the Wave led 19-13 heading into the game's final six minutes.

NOTES: Chris Morman finished the game as the Heat's leading scorer with four points (3pg, assist)...Marco Coria assisted on three goals for Harrisburg...The Heat returns to action next Sunday, January 19 when the team heads to Philadelphia to take on the KiXX.
