
Heat Defeated in Milwaukee

Milwaukee, WI - The Harrisburg Heat's brief two-game winning streak came to an end in Milwaukee on Saturday night, as the club fell to the Western-Conference leading Wave by a final score of 18-10 at the Bradley Center. With the loss, the Heat drops to 12-17 on the season, and Milwaukee improves to 23-5 with its 11th consecutive win (a new franchise record). Harrisburg falls back into fourth place in the MISL's Eastern Conference, behind second-place Cleveland (13-14) and third-place Baltimore (12-15), both winners on Saturday night.
The Heat's Mike Henning continued a recent hot streak with a 2pg at 8:53 to give the Heat the first lead of the game, 2-0. Milwaukee responded with an 8-0 second-quarter run, however, beginning with Brian Loftin's 2pg at the 14-second mark and ending with Pat White's deuce at 12:55, to take an 8-2 lead. Genoni Martinez ended the run with a 2pg at 13:47, and it was 8-4, Wave, at the half.
After Milwaukee's Todd Dusosky (1:10) and the Heat's David Bascome (4:00) traded third-quarter goals to make it 10-6, Wave, the hosts rang off two quick goals, from Michael King at 4:47 and Joe Reiniger at 6:08, to assume a 14-6 advantage heading into the final stanza.
Bascome gave the Heat some comeback hope with a 2pg at 5:57 to make it 14-8, but the Wave responded with two more unanswered goals, at 7:40 from Marcelo Fontana and 10:14 from Michael King, to make it 18-8. Henning's second 2pg of the contest, at 11:10, created the final 18-10 score.
NOTES: Harrisburg has now lost 11 straight games to Milwaukee, dating back to October 26, 2001 ¬Â¦Mike Henning has now scored 10 points in his last three games ¬Â¦The Heat will continue its month-long road trip this Friday, February 21, with a contest in Cleveland against the Force (7:35 p.m. kickoff). On Sunday, Harrisburg will face the Philadelphia KiXX at the First Union Spectrum (1:05 p.m. kickoff).
