Boise Hawks News Release

BOISE, ID - The Boise Hawks to offer free tickets this season to those adversely impacted by the current economic downturn.

On Monday nights during the 2009 season, the Hawks will make 400 tickets available in Memorial Stadium's first base, reserved section to unemployed workers in the community.

"Frankly, we're doing this because it's the right thing to do," said Hawks President/GM Todd Rahr. "Yes, we're a business and we have an obligation to our owners and stockholders. But at the same time, we've been a partner in this community for over two decades and we have an obligation to lend a hand and act responsibly in the good times and perhaps even more so in the tough times."

To qualify for the free tickets, the recipient will need to show an unemployment pay stub that was issued at any time during the previous four weeks. Up to four tickets will be available for each out of work fan and the tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.

"Everyone is feeling the pinch," said Hawks Director of Sales & Marketing Andy Simon. "We've had corporate colleagues like Micron, for instance, that simply won't be able to partner with us this season. In this environment, our hope is to reach out and offer up our venue, and the family fun we provide, as part of the solution to better times ahead."

The complimentary tickets can be redeemed at the Hawks' Box Office after 5pm on the day of the game only. The offer is not valid with any other 2009 promotion or sale.

The Hawks celebrate the 20th anniversary of Memorial Stadium in 2009 - it will be their 23rd season of Northwest League play. The club has won 6 NWL Championships, the most recent banner coming in 2004. Season, mini-plan, and single game tickets for Hawks' games are available at 322-5000. Don't stand in line. Purchase and print your tickets from home @ BoiseHawks.com. The Boise Hawks...rated F for fun!
