Everett Hawks News Release
EVERETT - Members of the Everett Hawks and their fan club will finish some of their spring cleaning a few weeks early this year.
Players, coaches and members of the Everett Hawks Fan Club invite members of the community to come out Saturday, March 17, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. to clean Clark Park, 2400 Lombard Ave., Everett. Among the chores that will be undertaken are raking leaves from the tennis courts and children's playground, as well as picking up trash in and around the gazebo in the park. Once all the cleaning is done, everyone is invited to stay and enjoy the area and a barbecue to follow.
"There is going to be a lot of raking and a lot of sweeping to do," said Everett Hawks Fan Club President Joe Laughlin. "We're just trying to get out in the community and let them know that the Hawks and the Hawks Fan Club are here and plan to be active in this community."
The park cleanup will take place after the Hawks' first public practice of training camp, a 10 a.m. intrasquad scrimmage at the Snohomish Soccer Dome, 511 Maple Ave., Snohomish. Admission is free and open to the public. Following the scrimmage, the Hawks and the fan club will put on their work clothes and head to Clark Park for the cleanup.
"We believe in team and we know that with the Everett Hawks and the fan club teaming up, we can make Everett and all of a Snohomish County a better place to live," said Hawks Head Coach Cedric Walker.
