Allentown, PA: The Lehigh Valley Steelhawks (6-2, 5-2 PIFL) will take on the Richmond Raiders (5-4) this Friday for the Steelhawks' first ever Friday home game. The Steelhawks are continuing a three game home stand, coming off a bye week. The Hawks won their last game, defeating the Alabama Hammers 50-31. The Steelhawks sit just a half game behind the Columbus Lions for first place in the league and are looking for a win to keep pace in the race for home field advantage in the playoffs.

Friday's matchup is the first and only meetup between the Hawks and the Raiders this season. After an exciting offensive game against the Hammers, the Steelhawks look to keep up the pace this week. Bouncing back from injury, Shane McSweeny wasted no time setting the scene for the Hawks' offense. McSweeny connected on 15 of 22 attempts, including three touchdown passes, while also rushing for 51 yards and three scores. He leads the entire PIFL in rushing yards. Wide receiver Brandon Renford had a huge game gaining 136 yards on 9 catches. The Steelhawks as a team head the league in total rushing yards and rushing touchdowns. The Steelhawks' defense continues to be a supreme force, leading the league in turnover margin, fumble returns, and interception returns to name a few.

The contending Raiders are riding a three game win streak heading into the weekend and are fresh off an exciting 46-40 victory over the Trenton Freedom. Leading the league in scoring offense and touchdowns scored, the Raiders' offense will put up a tough fight to the Steelhawks dominant defense. Richmond's strategy lies on the back of quarterback, Jonathan Bane. Struggling with interceptions this season, Bane hopes to avoid the tenacious, turnover forcing Hawks defense.

Coming off a big win against Alabama, the Steelhawks plan to continue to play aggressively on both the offense and defense. For the Steelhawks, increasing their league best +25 turnover margin will be key

Kickoff is slated for 7:05 pm this Friday night and is presented by Service Electric Cable TV & Communications. Friday is also Scout Night, where the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks will recognize scouts of local communities and present them with a Steelhawks badge at halftime. The first 1,500 fans will receive a free Steelhawks hat upon entry courtesy of Service Electric Cable TV and Communications!
