
Havoc Picks Up One Point Over Weekend

HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc picked up one point in a three-game weekend by dropping an overtime decision to Columbus Friday night. The Havoc also dropped two games to the Knoxville Ice Bears on Thursday and Saturday.
Thursday, January 29 (at Knoxville) - The Knoxville Ice Bears scored two powerplay and one short-handed goal on their way to a 4-1 win over the Huntsville Havoc Thursday night. Justin Keller scored both powerplay goals while Tim Vitek added the short-handed goal. Shaun Norrie added an even strenght goal for Knoxville. Bill McCreary scored the only Havoc goal on the powerplay with 3:34 left in the game. Ross Cherry made 21 saves in the loss while Andrew Gallant made 29 in the win.
Friday, January 30 (at Columbus) - The Huntsville Havoc rallied from down 3-0 to tie the game at 3-3 before falling 4-3 in overtime Friday night to the Columbus Cottonmouths. Sam Bowles, Michael George and Dan Leslie had given the Cottonmouths a 3-0 lead midway through the second period. Travis Kauffeldt scored midway through the second and Karlis Zirnis scored a powerplay goal with :06 left in the period cut the lead to 3-2 heading into the third period. Paul Falco added a powerplay goal with 12:48 left in the game to tie the score at 3-3. Columbus scored the game-winner when Tim Green found the back of the net in a 5-on-3 powerplay just :55 into the overtime period. Ross Cherry made 35 saves in the loss while Ian Vigier made 22 in the win.
Saturday, January 31 (vs Knoxville) - The Knoxville Ice Bears scored an empty net goal with :15 left in the game to seal a 4-2 win over the Huntsville Havoc Saturday night. The Havoc outshot the Ice Bears 48-15 but managed to get only two goals on goalie Andrew Gallant. The Ice Bears scored three goals on the powerplay and both Havoc goals were on the powerplay. B.J. Radovich scored both goals for the Havoc. Ross Cherry made 11 saves in the loss. The Havoc were whisted for 54 penalty minues to just 20 for Knoxville.
