The Montreal Juniors gave up two, two goal leads but were still able to pull out the victory in a shootout Sunday night at the Verdun Auditorium and before a national television audience on Rogers Sportsnet and RDS.

The star of the evening was Louis Leblanc who registered a hat trick and an assist. Leblanc's linemates were also hot, with Viktor Hertzberg scoring a goal on a penalty shot and adding two assists and David Rose with three assists. Montreal's fifth goal was scored by Trevor Parkes. Moncton was paced by Brandon Gormley and Marek Hrivik who each had two goals and Allain Saulnier with a single marker.

Montreal enjoyed a 4 on 3 power play in the overtime, but was unable to capitalize. The two teams headed to the shootout, and it was Jeremy Gouchie's goal in the fifth round that proved to be the winner.

JF Berube stopped 24 shots in regulation to pick up the win, but more importantly, turned aside 4 of 5 shots in the shootout. His Moncton counterpart, Brandon Thibeau, faced 38 shots from the Juniors.

NOTES: Montreal hits the road next week with games in Rouyn-Noranda and Val d'Or.
