EAST HARTFORD, CT - May 5, 2011 - The HARTFORD COLONIALS of the United Football League have signed the following players:
DE ERVIN BALDWIN MICHIGAN STATE
OT KYLE BURKHART SOUTHERN MISS
TE CHARLES DAVIS PURDUE
OL SERGIO RENDER VIRGINIA TECH
ERVIN BALDWIN: Baldwin was a seventh-round pick of the Chicago Bears in the 2008 NFL Draft. His professional on-field playing time has come with the Indianapolis Colts, where he played in three games in 2009. Baldwin had 13 total tackles this season. He started all 25 games of his two-year Spartan career at defensive end.
KYLE BURKHART: Burkhardt was an undrafted free agent in 2010. Played in college at Southern Mississippi. Spent time with the Seahawks, Jets and Colonials.
CHARLES DAVIS: Played for the Hartford Colonials in 2010 and had two receptions for 10 years. Played for the New York Sentinels in 2009. Fifth-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2006. Also spent time with the New York Giants, Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars and San Diego Chargers.
SERGIO RENDER: Signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2010. Played in college at Virginia Tech.
