HEAT REMAIN IN PLAYOFF HUNT

HARRISBURG, Pa., Feb. 4, 2014 - Just because the Harrisburg Heat have finished the home portion of their 16- game schedule does not mean the season is over. Far from it.

With three road games left in the regular season, the 4-9 Heat remain in contention for the fourth and final playoff berth in the Professional Arena Soccer League's Eastern Division, one game behind the 5-8 Cincinnati Saints.

The Heat, who won two of the three games in their season series with Cincinnati, play this weekend at last-place Illi- nois (1-12) on Saturday before facing league-leading Chicago (14-0) on Sunday in their two-day trip before finishing the season Feb. 16 at Dallas (12-2).

Cincinnati plays this Sunday at Cleveland (9-5) before finishing the regular season on Feb. 15-16 with a home game against Detroit (8-5) and a road match at Chicago. The Saints are 1-2 this season against Cleveland, 0-3 against Detroit and 0-1 against Chicago.

The East's fourth-place finisher will open the playoffs on the road against the third seed with No. 1 Chicago and the second seed, either Cleveland or Detroit, each receiving a first-round bye. As the host team for the Final Four, Chicago also receives a bye into the semifinals of the 10-team tournament that also features the top three finishers from the Central and Pacific divisions.
