Hanson Dominates Thunder; Wings Win Series

HARLINGEN, Texas- Starting pitcher Ray Hanson pitched a shout out, going eight innings and scattering just three hits and fanning seven earning his first win of the year (1-2) as RGV (6-6) took game four 9-1 against the Texas Thunder (6-6) Tuesday night at Harlingen Field.

RGV's starter Ray Hanson was perfect threw 4 and 2/3's till Jacob Douglas snuck a base hit into shallow right field, breaking up Hanson's perfect game.

RGV's bats came out early as Wings starting center fielder Michael Garcia was hit by the pitch in the bottom of the second inning. Garcia then stole second on a great jump beating out the throw to second.

RGV's Kevin Lusson came to the plate and smacked an RBI single back up the middle scoring Garcia from second, giving the Wings an early 1-0 lead.

Kevin Lusson led off the bottom of the fifth inning with a four pitch walk followed by a base hit from Troy Zawadzki.

Albert Carpen then came to the plate and delivered an RBI double scoring both Lusson and Zawadzki extending the Wings lead to 3-0.

In the eighth inning RGV's offense pounded the Thunders bullpen scoring five runs in the frame helping the cause for their starting pitcher Ray Hanson.

Once again Albert Carpen led the way at the plate hitting 3-for-5 on the night along with Thomas Shull's 2-for-5 night collecting two RBI's.

RGV wins their first series of the year three games to one over the Texas Thunder, as the Alexandria Aces come to Harlingen Field Thursday night for a four game series. First pitch is 7:05 p.m.
