EDINBURG, Texas - Kyle Wilson had a no-hitter going thru eight innings but was broken up in the ninth, but it didn't matter the Edinburg Roadrunners defeated the Fort Worth Cats by a score of 6-1 at Edinburg Baseball Stadium on Tuesday night.
Wilson (1-0) threw a complete game two hitter to master the Cats offense the only damage allowed was in the ninth inning when Greg Bachman hit a ground rule double to break it up.
Bachman would score on an RBI single by Dave Bergin and broke up the shutout in the process for the Cats (8-4).
The Roadrunners (4-8) were lead by Fernando de los Santos who went 4-for-4 with two runs including an RBI double in the fifth inning.
Chris Christopolous went 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI double in the fifth inning that drove in Carlton Salters.
The Roadrunners will have Wednesday off and open a four game series against the McAllen Thunder on Thursday at Edinburg Baseball Stadium with the first pitch set for 7:05 pm.
Thursday's game will be Thirsty Thursday where 12 ounce beer will be $1 and canned beer will $2 all game.
