Corpus Christi, TX- The Corpus Christi Hammerheads (2-1) took advantage of a San Angelo Stampede (0-3) team that just didn't seem to have it together in this game. From start to finish the Hammerheads were the better team. The Hammerheads are starting to look like they have all the pistons running on all cylinders as both offense and defense played well in this commanding 47-26 win. An Eddie Miller kick-off return for a touchdown, his second on the year, got things rocking in the Shark Tank. Then, touchdowns by Fred Wallace, Martin Dossett, Terrance Bennett, and kept the house rocking as the Hammerheads picked apart the San Angelo Stampede in this win, their second on the year.
Professional Soccer player turned Pro Football kicker had a rough outing that prompted Coach Jason McKinley to abandon the kicking game in the second quarter. The Hammerheads went for two points after most of their first half touchdowns and all of their second half touchdowns converting 1 of 3, with one stop consisting of a Stampede penalty that was assessed on kick the ensuing kick-off.
This win my just be what the doctor ordered as the Hammerheads were looking to get back on track after a disappointing 1 one-point loss in Tri-Cities on March 26. The Hammerheads look to continue their winning ways on the road next weekend in the Sunshine State as they take on the Kissimmee Kreatures (1-2) at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida on Saturday, April 9, at 7:05 PM.
