
Hammerheads split double dip

Jupiter Hammerheads News Release
JUPITER, FL- The Jupiter Hammerheads and Brevard County Manatees split their double-header this evening at Roger Dean Stadium. Jupiter took game one 5-4, but Brevard County bounced back in game two to win 3-2. Jupiter currently stays tied with Daytona for the Florida State League East Division lead.
Brett Carroll, who is with Jupiter on a Major League Rehab Assignment, hit a two-run double in the fifth inning to give Jupiter a 5-4 lead in game one. Jeff Allison (9-7) allowed three-earned runs on five hits and struck out two in route to his ninth win of the season. Adalberto Mendez pitched a scoreless ninth to pick up his 26th save.
J.R. Hopf singled off of reliever Brad Stone to break a 2-2 tie in the seventh inning of game two. He finished the game two for three.
Bryan Petersen and Daron Roberts each had two hits for Jupiter in the nightcap of the double-header.
The two teams will square off tomorrow in game three of this four game series. 2005 first-round draft pick Sean West is slated to take the mound for Jupiter. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
