Corpus Christi Hammerheads News Release
Corpus Christi, TX- The Corpus Christi Hammerheads are bringing home a familiar face. He's intimidated while under center as a High School QB at Buccaneer Stadium in the late 80's, he's roamed the defensive backfield for UCLA, he was a fifth-round draft pick by the New York Jets in 1995 playing in 14 games (starting two) in 1996, and has spent the last six years in the AFL with 155 career tackles and 8 interceptions playing most recently with the Dallas Desperados. Now he's the newest member of your Corpus Christi Hammerheads, he is none other than Carl Greenwood.
The addition of Carl will without a doubt instantly make the Hammerheads defense a force to be reckoned with. He brings immense knowledge of the game to this young and hungry defense that remains poised to feed off of the success of last year. The young and talented Hammerhead defense had some flashes of brilliance last year and looks to improve and establish itself as the NIFL's best in 2005. Now with Carl Greenwood in the mix, look out NIFL, there's a new shark in the water, and he's hungry for some action.
Look for Carl and the rest of the Hammerheads as they kick the 2005 season off on Monday, March 21, 2005 against the Lubbock Lonestars at the American Bank Center at 7:05 PM.
