Wilmington Hammerheads FC News Release

Wilmington, NC - Wilmington Hammerheads FC is scheduled to play the Harrisburg City Islanders on Saturday, July 4 at 7:00 p.m. EDT at Skyline Sports Complex.

The Hammerheads suffered a 4-0 defeat in front of their home crowd when meeting the City Islanders on the pitch at Legion Stadium in early May. Harrisburg's Ken Tribbett scored two of his overall three goals so far during the current regular season as he tallied one goal each half. Brett Jankouskas and Jason Plumhoff would go on to add the other two to secure the victory.

Wilmington enters Saturday's matchup three days after playing Saint Louis FC to a 0-0 draw at Legion Stadium. The Hammerheads claimed their first victory in two months a week before versus FC Montreal in stoppage time as they continue their attempt to make a run up the eastern conference table. Harrisburg holds a strong total of 21 goals scored this season to Wilmington's overall 11.

Harrisburg had recently experienced a continuous set of draws in their schedule until they encountered the Charleston Battery last weekend, falling 4-1 at Blackbaud Stadium. The City Islanders sit only a few slots above the Hammerheads in the league standings by a mere four points. A victory for the Hammerheads on Saturday could put the club one step closer to playoff contention as the second half of the season is underway.

Wilmington is scheduled for a bye week following their match against Harrisburg. The team is set to travel to Blackblaud Stadium on Saturday, July 18 to take on the Charleston Battery for the fourth time this season.

The Hammerheads host their next home match versus Louisville City FC on Saturday, July 25 at 7:00 p.m. EDT at Legion Stadium. Flex packages and single tickets are available for purchase online.
