Corpus Christi Hammerheads News Release
After a 5 game, 4600 mile road trip coupled with a bye week, the Hammerheads will finally return to the American Bank Center this Saturday night to play host to the Amarillo Venom.
Saturday's game will be a special one for Corpus Christi not only because they get to play in front of the home town fans for the first time since March 21st, but the May 8th game is also the team's annual push towards helping eliminate breast cancer.
"We have a number of special things planned for Saturday", said team owner and president Chad Dittman. "We'll be giving away replica pink jerseys to the first 500 women as well as a number of other items, and the team will be wearing pink jerseys during the game that will be auctioned off afterwards with 100% of the funds going to help fight breast cancer", he added.
Offensive Coordinator Schuyler Anderson was also looking forward to Saturday. "It seems like the last time we were home it was last season", said Anderson. "We get to come back, play a good team, and help a great cause. That's a pretty good homecoming".
Saturday's game will also give fans their first opportunity to see some of the team's new additions, like former Oklahoma All American Jerod Fields and former Kansas Jayhawk Brian Murph.
"I really hope that the community comes out and helps support our drive to help eliminate breast cancer as well as help us hand the Venom their first loss of the season.
Kick off is set for 7:05pm. Hammerheads tickets start at just $7 and are available at the American Bank Center Box office, Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com, or by calling the Hammerheads at (361)814-PASS (7277).
