
Dusty Burk Added To Extreme Coaching Staff

BLOOMINGTON (Ill.) - Bloomington Extreme Head Coach Ted Schmitz announced the addition of Dusty Burk to the Bloomington Extreme Indoor Football team coaching staff.
Burk, who had been the Extreme starting quarterback the previous four seasons and was named the 2007 UIF All-Star game MVP has been named Co-Offensive Coordinator for the Extreme. Burk, who is the Head Football Coach at University High School in Normal, IL spent time at Illinois State and Truman State as a quarterback prior to playing professionally for the Omaha Beef and the Extreme.
John Johnson will be the Co-Offensive Coordinator along with Burk and will also be the Special Teams Coordinator. Frank West will continue as the Extreme Defensive Coordinator, with Bryan Thomas moving to Linebackers Coach, and injured Extreme defensive lineman Antonio Ficklin working with and coaching the Defensive Line. Nick Ruud will continue as the Offensive Line Coach.
"We have a very talented and knowledgable coaching staff" commented Head Coach Ted Schmitz. "We are going to work to do a better job of preparing our players for the games and communicating with them as to what is expected of everyone involved. We are going to revamp our offense and add some new defensive schemes." "We've put ourselves in a tough position, but it's now a new season and time for us to get the job done."
The Bloomington Extreme resume action this Saturday, May 8 at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum versus the 1-7 La Crosse Spartans at 7:05. Extreme ball caps will be given out to the first 3,000 fans and specialty baseball themed jerseys will be worn and auctioned off following the game.
