
Hammerheads fall in slugfest

Jupiter Hammerheads News Release
JUPITER, FL- The Charlotte Stone Crabs beat the Jupiter Hammerheads 10-7 in an offensive show at Roger Dean Stadium. The two teams combined for four home runs and three triples.
Matt Fields and Cody Cipriano hit back-to-back home runs in the first inning off of Jeff Allison to set the tone for the Stone Crabs. Gregory Sexton followed with a two-run home run in the second.
Mike Stanton had a great game offensively and finished three for five with two doubles and a triple. The slugger raised his batting average to .315. Gregory Burns hit his first home run of the season and finished two for three with three runs scored.
Jeff Allison suffered his second loss of the season, while reliever Paul Phillips recorded his first victory of 2009. Closer Matt Gorgen picked up his fourth save.
The two teams continue their series tomorrow at Roger Dean Stadium. Derell McCall will start for Jupiter. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM.
