Jupiter Hammerheads News Release
The Jupiter Hammerheads fall 1-0 in their series finale against the Daytona Tortugas on Sunday afternoon. Jupiter was only able to muster up four hits in the shutout, as Daytona gets their sole win this week.
Starting on the mound, making his second rehab appearance with Jupiter, was Cole Sulser. The Marlins reliever pitched 1.1 innings of hitless baseball and tallied four strikeouts.
Following the big leaguer, the Hammerheads turned to Juan Reynoso. The righty pitched 4.1 innings and allowed the sole run in the game. The Dominican native struck out four and gave up just one walk.
Yeuris Jimenez, Caleb Wurster, and Jake Schrand would finish the game for the Hammerheads. The three relievers would give up one combined hit, no walks, and collect four strikeouts. Jimenez worked 1.2 innings, with Wurster going 0.2 innings, and Schrand pitching the ninth inning.
While the pitching continued to dominate Daytona, the bats weren't awake for the Hammerheads on Sunday. Only three players connected for a hit, with Carlos Santiago leading the way with a 2-4 game. Zach Zubia and Javier Sanoja each earned singles in the game.
Jupiter still won the series over Daytona. The Hammerheads will be back in action on Tuesday evening at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium as the road team when they face their neighbors, the Palm Beach Cardinals. First pitch on Tuesday is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
