Hamilton Bulldogs Sign Joey Tenute to P.T.O.

HAMILTON, ONT - Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the Club has signed forward Joey Tenute to a Professional Try-Out Contract. As per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Tenute, 29, played 32 regular season games last season for Klagenfurt AC of the Austrian League recording 23 points (7 goals, 16 assists) and 16 penalty minutes while also playing 18 regular season games for Tappara Tampere of the SM-Liiga posting seven points (2 goals, 5 assists) and eight penalty minutes. From 2008-2012, Tenute played in Europe with Jokerit Helsinki, Frankfurt Lions, Hamburg Freezers, Tappara Tampere and Klagenfurt AC. In 207 regular season games in the American Hockey League from 2005-2008, the 5'9", 190-pound forward registered 166 points (69 goals, 97 assists) and 190 penalty minutes for the Hershey Bears and San Antonio Rampage. Prior to turning professional, the native of Hamilton, Ontario played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League from 2000-2004 posting 271 points (95 goals, 176 assists), a +55 rating and 259 penalty minutes in 253 regular season games for the Barrie Colts and Sarnia Sting. Tenute was originally selected by the New Jersey Devils in the eighth round, 261st overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
The Bulldogs' next game is against the Toronto Marlies at Copps Coliseum tonight at 7:30 p.m. All 'Dogs games during the month of January will be broadcast on Hamilton's Funny 820 (AM 820), with select games simulcast on Montreal's TSN Radio 690 (AM 690). The game will also be telecast on TVA Sports. Fans can also listen to and watch all 'Dogs games on www.hamiltonbulldogs.com. Live coverage with the broadcast team of Play-By-Play Announcer Derek Wills (all home and away games) and Colour Commentator Al Craig (all home and select away games) will begin with the Pioneer Pre-Game Show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
