Rochester Knighthawks News Release
Rochester Knighthawks transition man Jordan Hall has been named a finalist for the National Lacrosse League's Sportsmanship Award, joining New England's Kyle Buchanan and Vancouver's Curtis Hodgson.
In 2015, Hall tied a career low with only two penalty minutes, while finishing tied for second on the Knighthawks in goals (25). He also ended the season third on the team in points (64) and assists (39). This season was Hall's third in Rochester after playing for the Knighthawks in 2011 and 2012. During his first stop in Rochester, he won his first Champion's Cup (2012) and the NLL's Sportsmanship Award (2011).
"Jordan carries himself with the utmost class, which translates to the way he plays the game on the floor," said Knighthawks forward Dan Dawson. "He definitely gives everything he has and is a competitor. But at the same at time, he plays a very fair game. He is the kind of guy who kids are going to want to model themselves after on how you play the game."
On Sept. 22, 2014, Hall returned to the Knighthawks after being reacquired in a Draft Day Trade with the New England Black Wolves. On Jan. 3, he made an immediate impact with a three-point effort on opening night. Hall would finish the season as only one of two Rochester players to record a point in all 18 regular season games.
"Just adding him to our roster was a huge boost to our offense," said Knighthawks forward Joe Walters. "We look forward to playing together next year and creating even more chemistry. It has been awesome having Jordan on our roster. He works hard on and off the floor, and I think we see that every Saturday night."
In his NLL career, Hall has registered 163 goals, 314 assists and 637 loose balls in 118 games. The 30-year-old has also recorded 40 or more points in all eight of his seasons. The Surrey, BC native played collegiately at the University of Delaware prior to becoming the first overall pick in the 2007 NLL Entry Draft.
The 2015 NLL Season Awards are determined by a vote of the league's Board of Governors, General Managers and Head Coaches at the end of the regular season. The winners will be announced at the NLL Season Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 29 in Toronto.
