
Halifax Falls Hard for Summerside STORM

Summerside Storm News Release
(Summerside, PE) The Summerside STORM pushed their Atlantic Division leading record to 17-10 with a 135-90 pasting of the Halifax Rainmen at Credit Union Place in Summerside. 1,816 fans saw the STORM take a 69-43 lead into halftime and never looked back.
Omari Johnson led the way for the STORM with 24 points while Brandon Robinson scored 23. Newcomer Josiah Turner had 10 assists on the night. Antoine Tisby was high man for Halifax with 16. The STORM play next at home on February 14th, the Cure on the Court game as the STORM raise money for breast cancer research.
The STORM also helped present a cheque by MRSB this evening for over $4,000.00 in the MRSB Chartered Accountants program which contributes to worthy community projects through their sponsorship of STORM Basketball.
It was a big night for winners at the STORM game as Lianne Wadden of Summerside won the 50/50 and took home half the $3,374 total pot. Stacy Chaisson won the Fly PEI/Travel Store paper airplane toss and won a $150 travel voucher. Meanwhile, the Fly PEI/Travel Store winner of a trip for two to the Dominican Republic leaving from Charlottetown was Denis Jacques. Everyone with a ticket at the STORM game tonight won a free car wash from Wilsons Fuels on Water St. tomorrow.
