WINDSOR, Colo. - Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC will round out its 2023 coaching staff with assistant coach Colin Falvey, who comes to the club from Syracuse Pulse in NISA.

"I think the ceiling for this club is massive with the facilities that are being built and the ambition," Falvey said.

A center back during his playing days, Falvey was teammates with Hailstorm FC head coach Éamon Zayed at both Indy Eleven and Chattanooga Red Wolves SC.

"We have similar ideas regarding how we see the game," Falvey said. "He's more in-depth and tuned in when it comes to the attacking side of the game and obviously my trade was as a defender, so it's a good balance."

Though he spent most of his career in the United States and Canada, Falvey played on four continents, with time in Ireland, New Zealand, and India. Falvey made more than 100 appearances for Charleston Battery in what is now the USL Championship, winning that league's Defender of the Year award in 2013.

His most recent stop was as an assistant coach at Syracuse Pulse in NISA, where he helped the team to a sixth place finish in 2022 and worked with Hailstorm fullback Bruno Rendon.

"He has good experience with the defensive side of the game," Rendon said. "I like the professionalism he puts into training."
