Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC News Release

WINDSOR, Colo. - In a matchup of teams coming off of wins at the weekend, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC will look to hand Forward Madison FC their first league loss when they travel to Breese Stevens Field on Thursday night.

The strength of Forward Madison is their solid defense, anchored by goalkeeper Bernd Schipmann. The 'Mingos have conceded just twice in six league games this season. They are on a run of three straight clean sheets, having last allowed a goal on April 15 in a 4-1 win over Greenville.

"Madison have a really good defense," Hailstorm FC head coach Éamon Zayed said. "They've went out and brought in some strong, strong players this year to strengthen."

Testing that Madison defense will be Hailstorm FC forward Trevor Amann, who has scored three goals and added an assist in his team's last two games, making him one of the hottest strikers in the league.

"We're going to have to be on top of our game," Amann said. "We have to be able to make sure that we take our chances."

In attack, Forward Madison FC are led by forward Christian Chaney, who has a pair of goals this season. Additionally, midfielder Isidro Martinez had a goal and an assist in their 2-0 win over North Carolina FC on Saturday.

"It's obviously a tough place to go," Hailstorm captain Rob Cornwall said. "They have a nice setup, nice stadium, good fans."

Hailstorm will also see a familiar face in Madison, as midfielder Wolfgang Prentice, who played 12 games on loan with Northern Colorado last season, is now on loan with the 'Mingos.

Kickoff in Madison is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
