Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC News Release
WINDSOR, Colo. - Unbeaten in their last four away from home, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC will play their final road game of the regular season Friday at Greenville Triumph SC.
A win or a draw against Greenville would secure at least one Hailstorm playoff match at Future Legends Field. They additionally have an opportunity to gain ground on the top two clubs in USL League One as North Carolina FC and Union Omaha play each other on Friday night, as well.
"I think Friday is a very important game given the other fixtures in the league," Hailstorm forward Irvin Parra said. "We're focusing on ourselves, just have to make sure we do the job."
Hailstorm enter Friday's match having not scored in either of their last two matches, it is the first time they have been held scoreless in back-to-back matches in 2023. They have had 21 shots in their last two matches, but put just four of them on target.
"The last two games, I just don't think we were fully at it from an attacking standpoint. Crosses, set pieces just didn't have the execution that we expect," Hailstorm head coach Éamon Zayed said.
Finding that cutting edge again is key for Hailstorm to get back to their winning ways and back into the race for the top of the USL League One table.
Friday's match at Greenville is scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m. Mountain time and can be watched live on ESPN+.
