Hailstorm Forward Trevor Amann Signs with Sacramento Republic FC

WINDSOR, Colo. - After a 2023 season that saw him break both club and league records, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC forward Trevor Amann has signed with USL Championship side Sacramento Republic FC for the 2024 season.

"I want to thank Hailstorm for giving me the opportunity the last two years," Amann said. "I was just a college kid not really sure if I would have the chance to play after school."

In two seasons with Hailstorm, Amann scored 32 goals in all competitions, 27 of which came in 2023, a season in which he broke the USL League One record with 23 goals in the regular season. The Colorado native was named the 2023 USL League One Player of the Year on Friday.

"People see his goals, but as a coach, and what his teammates saw, was his willingness to work every single day at training," Hailstorm head coach Éamon Zayed said.

Amann played in 62 games in all competitions in two seasons in Northern Colorado and scored the first two hat tricks in club history. His hat trick against Forward Madison FC in October was also the first playoff hat trick in USL League One history.

"The opportunity to play for Hailstorm has really prepared me well for the next level and I'm excited to showcase my abilities in the future," Amann said.

He will now get a chance to build on his success with Hailstorm with one of the top clubs in the USL Championship.

"I know (Sacramento coach) Mark Briggs really, really well," Zayed said. "Mark is a good friend of mine, and I can't think of a better club and a better coach to go and work under and try to prove himself at the next level. I have no doubt he will. Good luck to him. Sacramento's a fantastic club. We've absolutely loved having him for two years, and he's welcome back any time."
