Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC News Release

WINDSOR, Colo. - Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC continues to bolster its ranks with the addition of 25-year-old former USL Championship player Arthur Rogers, pending league and federation approval.

Rogers most recently played with USL Championship side Hartford Athletic in Connecticut, appearing in 40 matches during the 2020 and 2021 seasons while playing 2,714 minutes and scoring three goals. During the 2020 campaign, Rogers appeared in 16 of 17 matches and helped take the team to its first-ever playoff appearance.

He also has two international caps for the England men's futsal team, and was part of the national team for the FIFA Futsal World Cup qualifiers in Israel in 2015.

"I'm delighted to get Arthur on board," said Hailstorm FC head coach Éamon Zayed. "He's an extremely intelligent and technical player who can adapt to a number of positions. He played an integral role with Hartford over the last two years, especially in 2020 when they had a really good season. He was someone I'd earmarked early on, I just didn't know if I could get him over the line. But now he's with us, I'm extremely delighted. He adds another level of quality to our group, and while he's still extremely young, he's hungry and motivated to win a championship."

Before playing for Hartford Athletic, Rogers played for the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley from 2017-19, and during his senior season also made 13 appearances with Corpus Christi FC, scoring four goals for the USL League Two side.

During his three seasons with the Vaqueros, Rogers made 45 appearances and scored three goals with ten assists. His efforts earned him a place on the 2018 All-WAC honorable mention team, the 2019 All-WAC second team, and the 2019 United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-West Region Second Team.

Rogers transferred to UTRGV after spending his freshman year at Kentucky Wesleyan. He started 17 matches for the Panthers and recorded seven goals and four assists.

He came up through the youth ranks at Hanwell Town and Wealdstone in London, where he received multiple Player of the Year and Manager's Player of the Year awards.

"I'm so excited to be joining the project here in Northern Colorado," said Rogers. "From the first phone call with [head coach Éamon Zayed], I knew the ambitions and goals he had for the club aligned with my own. I can't wait to get to work for the fans alongside my teammates and coaches."

Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC will make its competitive debut in the second round of the US Open Cup on April 6 when they travel south down I-25 to face the Colorado Springs Switchbacks. They will then make their USL League One debut on April 9 with a match against Richmond Kickers. Due to construction at the Future Legends Complex, the club's first home match will be almost two months later, when they host North Carolina FC on June 8.

Hailstorm FC will play its home matches in the 6,500-seat main stadium of the Future Legends Complex, the premier destination for sports and events in Northern Colorado. Opening in 2022, the 118-acre complex will feature a professional stadium, multiple baseball diamonds and multi-purpose fields, an indoor sports arena, lodging, and retail; and will host guests for major sports tournaments, events, leagues, and more.
