Haddad hits first-career blast picks up three RBI in R'Dogs seventh-straight win

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The Charleston RiverDogs increased their season-high win streak and home win streak to seven games with a 10-5 come-from-behind victory over the Augusta GreenJackets in front of 4,618 fans, Saturday night at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.

The RiverDogs (25-30 second half, 59-66 overall) held two early leads but trailed 4-3 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning. Charleston batted around in the frame and put five runs on the board to take the lead back for good.

Austin Aune drove in the first run of the inning with a single to left, and Isaias Tejeda scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch by Dusten Knight (7-3). Back-to-back bases-loaded singles by Griff Gordon and Radley Haddad increased Charleston's lead to 7-4. Devyn Bolasky followed with an RBI groundout to extend the advantage to four.

Augusta (28-26, 61-62) cut the deficit to three in the seventh inning when Skyler Ewing led off with a triple and scored on Chuckie Jones' groundout to second. The RiverDogs put the GreenJackets away for good when Haddad crushed a two-run home run to right field in the eighth.

David Palladino pitched the first five innings and struck out eight in his first game back with the RiverDogs. Dillon McNamara (4-0) pitched 1 1/3 innings of relief to earn the win.

The RiverDogs jumped out to an early 2-0 with runs in the first and second innings. Devyn Bolasky started the first with a double and came home to score on two ground balls by Angel Aguilar and Bo Thompson. Aune blasted a solo home run, his eighth of the season, to right-center field to begin the second.

Augusta tallied runs in the fourth and fifth on a sacrifice fly by Matt Winn and an RBI single by Dylan Davis to tie the game 2-2. Bolasky put the RiverDogs back in front with an RBI single to center in the bottom of the fifth.

Back-to-back doubles by Jones and Matt Pare evened the score at 3-3. Augusta grabbed their brief 4-3 lead when Will Callaway drove in Pare with a single to right two batters later.

The game got a little chippy in the sixth inning when Andrew Cain and the catcher Haddad got into a face-to-face scuffle. Both benches cleared and bullpens emptied, but cooler heads prevailed and all was quiet for the rest of the night.
