
Gwinnett Braves Announce 2016 Schedule

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA - The Gwinnett Braves, Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, announced today their official schedule and game times for the 2016 season. The G-Braves open their eighth year in the International League on Thursday, April 7 at Norfolk, and the home opener at Coolray Field is set for a week later on Thursday, April 14 vs. Norfolk.
The 2016 season marks a minor change in game times at Coolray Field, as Monday-Thursday games move from 6:35 p.m. to 7:05 p.m. Friday-Saturday games remain 7:05 p.m. starts, and Sunday games will again be 2:05 p.m. starts. Gwinnett will also play at 10:35 a.m. for Education Day on May 4 and at 12:05 p.m. for Daycare Days on June 9 and July 6.
The G-Braves begin 2016 with a seven-game road trip from April 7-13 against two IL South Division rivals, the Norfolk Tides and the Durham Bulls. Gwinnett will then host both of those clubs during its week-long opening homestand from April 14-20.
The rest of the schedule includes homestands vs. Columbus, Toledo and Charlotte (April 29-May 4, May 6-8), Durham and Charlotte (May 16-20), Syracuse and Pawtucket (May 27-June 1), Lehigh Valley and Norfolk (June 6-12), Indianapolis and Charlotte (June 20-26), Norfolk (July 4-6), Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (July 14-17), Indianapolis (July 26-28), Charlotte (August 1-4), Louisville (August 12-14), Charlotte, Rochester and Buffalo (August 18-25) and Norfolk and Durham (August 29-September 3). Indianapolis is the only non-IL South opponent to visit Coolray Field twice in 2016.
Gwinnett will play home games on 11 Fridays, 10 Saturdays and nine Sundays, and will host games on Mother's Day (Sunday, May 8 vs. Charlotte), Memorial Day (Monday, May 30 vs. Pawtucket) and Independence Day (Monday, July 4 vs. Norfolk).
In addition to their opening road trip from April 7-13, the G-Braves will also travel to Charlotte, Columbus and Toledo (April 21-28), Rochester and Pawtucket (May 9-15), Charlotte and Norfolk (May 21-25), Durham (June 2-5), Lehigh Valley and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (June 14-19), Indianapolis and Louisville (June 27-July 3), Charlotte (July 7-10), Syracuse and Buffalo (July 18-24), Toledo (July 29-31), Durham and Norfolk (August 5-10), Charlotte (August 15-17), Durham (August 26-28) and Charlotte (September 4-5). Toledo is the only non-IL South opponent Gwinnett visits twice in 2016.
