Spokane Shock News Release

April 27, 2007 - The Spokane Shock announced today that back-up QB Matt Gutierrez has been traded to the Louisville Fire for future considerations. The team also announced that QB Chivalrik Daughtry has been assigned to its 2007 roster and WR Lynzell Jackson has been placed on recallable reassignment.

Gutierrez appeared in one game on April 7th against the Quad City Steamwheelers and completed 60% of his passes for 133 yards and three touchdowns. Jackson appeared in one game for the Shock catching one pass for 10 yards. Daughtry was brought in earlier this month on a two-day workout and proved himself to Coach Shackleford.

"He has the tools to continue to push Andrico and he has the tools to play in this league whether it's two days from now or two weeks from now," Shackleford explained. "We need two QB's who are capable of that."

Daughtry, 6-4 215, played at Morehouse College where he passed for over 5,000 yards in his four year career. In his junior season (2000), Daughtry passed for 1,745 yards (110/236) the third most productive all time single season at Morehouse.
