Green Bay Blizzard News Release
Green Bay Blizzard quarterback Gino Guidugli has been selected as the Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in a three game span thanks to another great performance. The Blizzard faced off against the Milwaukee Iron and Guidugli played an almost perfect game while leading the offense to 86 points, a franchise record for points scored in a game.
Statistically, Guidugli threw only three incomplete passes in 25 attempts for 290 yards passing which equals an 88 percent pass completion percentage. He also accounted for 8 touchdowns, 5 passing and 3 rushing, which is a career record for rushing touchdowns in a game.
The Iron's #1 ranked defense could do little to stop Guidugli and the Blizzard offense which scored on every possession they had during the game. The win brings the Blizzard within a half-game of the Iowa Barnstormers for first place in the Midwest Division. Currently Guidugli sits at 3,118 yards passing for the season just 482 yards shy of the Blizzard franchise passing record set by Johnny Turman's record of 3,599 passing yards in 2005. This week the Blizzard are on a bye but will return next week to play the Quad City Steamwheelers in Moline, Illinois. The Blizzard returns home for the final regular season game July 17th against their state rival Milwaukee Iron. For more information, please contact the Blizzard office at (920) 405-1264.
