Adirondack Lumberjacks News Release
Glens Falls, NY- Adirondack Lumberjack infielder Eppie Guerrero has been placed on the disabled list, the Northern League club announced today. The Lumberjacks have activated coach Chris Miyake to fill the spot left open by Guerrero's injury.
Guerrero pulled up lame running out a double in last night's 8-2 loss to the Quebec Capitales. Eppie originally tweaked the hamstring in a series in Elmira in the beginning of June.
To replace Guerrero on the roster, the Jacks activated coach Chris Miyake. Miyake last placed in 2001 as a member of the New Jersey Jackals, who the Jacks will be facing tonight.
Chris originally joined the Lumberjacks in 1999 as the team's shortstop. Miyake hit .264 with 2 home runs and 36 RBI's that season. Chris was also a member of the 2000 Championship Lumberjacks squad, and hit .258 with 4 home runs and 39 RBI's. He represented the Lumberjacks in the 1999 and 2000 Northern League All-Star Games.
Miyake is expected to be ready to play in Monday's doubleheader against the New Jersey Jackals at second base, the position usually held down by Guerrero.
