Greenville Grrrowl News Release
GREENVILLE, SC â The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL have announced that two staff members will take on new roles heading into its seventh season. ETHAN WADE has been promoted to Vice-President of Sales, and DAVID PLANCK has expanded his role in the ticket department as Director of Group Sales / Gameday Operations.
ETHAN WADE, a native of Greer, SC, has been with the Grrrowl since the creation of the organization in 1998, first as an on-ice entertainer, and later working with the team as a full-time ticket sales representative. For the past three seasons, Ethan has served as the Director of Season Tickets / Gameday Operations, and has over 10-years of sales experience. Ethan will be responsible for all aspects of the ticket department on a daily basis and will oversee the ticket sales staff. Wade replaces Mitch Mann who left the organization following the 2003-04 season, after four seasons.
"Ethan has been an extremely loyal and hard-working member of our family from day one," commented Carl Scheer, Chairman/CEO of ScheerSports and the Greenville Grrrowl. "As we looked for a person to head our ticket department, it became clear that we had the right person in our office, and we knew Ethan was someone who we could depend on as we prepare for the 2004-05 season. He has demonstrated that he has the ability to perform at the highest level in many different roles with the Grrrowl, and this new position will be no exception to his commitment and leadership."
DAVID PLANCK has been with ScheerSports (both with the Grrrowl and the NBDL Greenville Groove) in the ticket department for three seasons. Prior to his arrival in Greenville, he served as Director of Merchandise and Administration/Corporate Sales for the Asheville Smoke of the UHL. David is a 2000 graduate of Clemson University with a BS in Marketing. David will oversee the group sales efforts for the Grrrowl, and will add Gameday Operations responsibilities. Planck replaces Bobby Askin who has taken a position as Director of Athletic Marketing at Marshall University in Huntington, WVA.
"David is another example of someone has worked his way up through our organization," added Scheer. "David has shown a great ability to produce in our ticket department, and his work ethic is second to none. With the new responsibilities, I know that David will be an even greater asset to our team. He has learned a great deal in a relatively short career in the sports industry, and will are excited to have David as part of our family."
The 2004-05 schedule has been released and season tickets (starting at $238), mini-plans and flex packs are available now by contacting the Grrrowl office. Please call 467-4777 for additional ticket information.
