Growlers Top Kingfish 9-4, Snap Losing Streak

Kalamazoo, Mich - The Kalamazoo Growlers (11-18) topped the Kenosha Kingfish (14-13) by a score of 9-4.

The Growlers were solid in every aspect of the game as they totaled 15 hits along with strong performances on the mound from Ryan Smoyer (University of Notre Dame) and closer Devon Bronson (Eastern Michigan University).

Smoyer added to an already impressive season, he went seven innings with three strikeouts and allowed just four runs and was given a well deserved win.

The Growlers were on a hitting frenzy as every Growler in the lineup had a hit on the night.

Capitan Jared Kujawa (Western Michigan University) was phenomenal for the Growlers in the batter's box, he went 4-for-2 with 3 RBI's, and helped the Growlers grab the lead. Jesse Puscheck (Canisus College) also added 2 RBI's

The Growlers look to continue their success as they head to Wausau, Wisconsin tomorrow to take on the Wisconsin Woodchucks (17-10) at 7:05 p.m. at Athletic Park.

Monday, June 30th the Growlers take on cross-town rival the Battle Creek Bombers in a day, night doubleheader. The first game will be played at Homer Stryker Field at 12:00 p.m. Then will move to Battle Creek for a 7:05 start and what should be an exciting day of baseball.
