Fresno Grizzlies News Release

Fresno, CA- The Fresno Grizzlies are giving Central Valley vocalists a chance to perform the National Anthem at home games for the 2007 season. Performers are invited to audition on Saturday, March 10 at Fashion Fair Mall's Center Court from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. on a first come, first sing basis.

"Singing the national anthem at Chukchansi Park is an awesome privilege," said Jessica Blada, Grizzlies Director of Entertainment. "We are hoping to have an even larger turn out this year in order to fill 72 home games."

Contestants will have a minute and a half time frame to perform the Anthem and words must be memorized and sung in a traditional style. A panel of judges will be timing the performers and selecting the best acapella renditions of the National Anthem. Performers are also encouraged to have dates of availability, according to the 2007 schedule, on hand.

Those unable to attend the auditions are encouraged to submit an audio, video tape or CD of their performance to Chukchansi Park, Attention: National Anthem, 1800 Tulare Street, Fresno, CA 93721. All recordings must be received by Monday, March 12 in order to be considered.

The Grizzlies home opener is April 5th against the Portland Beavers at 7:05pm. Season tickets and miniplans are now available. To purchase, please call the Grizzlies at 559-320-HITS or log on to fresnogrizzlies.com for more information.
