Gateway Grizzlies News Release
Adam Jahnsen tossed a complete-game one-hit shutout to propel the Grizzlies to a 3-0 win over the Evansville Otters in game two of the Frontier League Championship series. With Tuesday's win, the Grizzlies take a commanding 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series.
Jahnsen gave up a lead-off single Juan Downing on the first pitch of the game, then did not allow a hit the rest of the night. He walked just two, and struck out 11 hitters. It is second win in as many post-season appearances.
Phil Warren provided the offense for the game. Warren drove in Jimmy Reiter for the first run of the ballgame in the first inning. Warren added a two-run home run in the sixth to make it 3-0. He was 3-3 on the night.
The Grizzlies now head to Evansville for the games three and four, if necessary, Thursday and Friday night. Game time Thursday is 7:05. Tune in on the Grizzlies radio network WSMI 106.1 FM, WNSV 104.7 FM or KJFF 1400 AM, beginning at 7:00 Thursday night.
