Grizzlies Fall to Defending Champs

On Friday, June 24th, the Grizzlies dropped one to the defending champs as the Edenton Steamers visited Gastonia and come away with a 14-7 win. The Grizzlies led 4-3 after 2 innings and then remained close behind at 6-4, but a disastrous 5th inning saw Edenton plate 6 runs. The Grizzlies added 1 in the 6th and 2 more in the 7th to inch closer, but Edenton continued to answer with 2 more in the 8th.
Looking ahead on the schedule, the Grizzlies will travel to Wilmington tomorrow, before visiting Fayetteville on Monday, and Savannah for a doubleheader on Wednesday. As for Edenton, the Steamers travel to Asheboro tomorrow and return home on Monday to welcome the Lexington County Blowfish.
