Crestwood, Ill. - With the Gateway Grizzlies leading 3-2 in the bottom half of the tenth, Corey Bass delivered a walkoff two-run double to propel the Windy City ThunderBolts over Gateway in a 4-3 win.

With the score tied at 2-2 in the top of the tenth, Gateway's Tyler Tewell smacked the first pitch of the frame over the right field fence for a solo homer. RHP Kevin Jefferis (0-1) came on for the save opportunity but allowed three straight hits after recording the first out of the inning. The final blow was Bass' grounder down the first base line to plate the tying and winning runs.

The Grizzlies (30-32) grabbed an early 2-0 lead in the third inning on Craig Massoni's tenth home run of the season. Massoni blasted a two-run shot to right field after Cody Livesay singled earlier in the frame.

RHP Vince Molesky put together a solid outing in the series finale, throwing seven innings while giving up just two runs. He gave up an RBI double to Ransom LaLonde in the fourth and a solo shot to Charley Thurber in the fifth as the ThunderBolts (29-31) pulled even at 2-2.

The score stayed that way through the middle innings as RHP Zack Westcott and RHP Cam Giannini combined to toss four scoreless frames out of Windy City's bullpen.

A 53-minue rain delay halted play as the bottom of the eighth was set to begin. When action resumed, RHP JaVaun West kept the score tied at 2-2 with a pair of scoreless innings for the Grizzlies.

RHP Austin Demotte (1-0) picked up the win despite giving up the solo shot to Tewell in the tenth. Tewell and Livesay paced the Grizzlies with two hits a piece.

After an off day on Monday, the Grizzlies return to GCS Ballpark on Tuesday night for the start of a nine-game homestand. Gateway takes on the Schaumburg Boomers for the first tilt of a three-game series at 7:05 p.m.

The game can be heard on the Grizzlies Radio Network, which airs Tuesday on 1400 AM KJFF and online at www.GatewayGrizzlies.com/Radio. Sam Levitt and Matt Sabados will have the call.
