Arkansas RimRockers News Release

MEMPHIS, Tenn., February 2 - Memphis Grizzlies President of Basketball Operations Jerry West announced today the team has assigned forward Lawrence Roberts and guard Anthony Roberson to the Arkansas RimRockers of the NBA Development League. Arkansas is the Grizzlies' D-League affiliate.

Roberts averaged 1.5 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.1 assists in 24 games with the Grizzlies. He set career-highs in points (eight), rebounds (five) and minutes (18) on November 9 at Boston. Originally selected 55th overall by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 2005 Draft, he was acquired by the Grizzlies from Seattle in exchange for two future second round draft picks and cash considerations.

Roberson, 6-2, 180-pounds, was signed by the Grizzlies as a free agent on August 18. The rookie from Florida averaged 1.6 points, 0.5 rebounds and 0.4 assists in 10 games with the Grizzlies.

"This is a great opportunity for Lawrence and Anthony to take the hard work they have put in from the summer, training camp and through the regular season and apply it to real game situations where they can continue to develop," said Grizzlies Head Coach Mike Fratello.

Thirteen (13) NBA-assigned players are now currently active in the D-League. Roberson and Roberts will join Atlanta Hawks assignee Donta Smith on the RimRockers roster. In all, Arkansas has had five players assigned from NBA teams this season.
