Grizzlies announce Donnie McCumby signed For 2009 Football Season

Fairbanks, AK. 11.07.08. Ricky Bertz, General Manager for the Fairbanks Grizzlies, announced the re-signing of Donnie McCumby for the 2009 season. Donnie is a 2004 graduate of West Valley and also red shirted 1 year on Valley City State University's football team in North Dakota. After leaving VCSU, Donnie believed his football career to be over. When the IFL brought a team to Fairbanks in 2008, he had the opportunity to play again.
Playing for the Grizzlies during their inaugural season, he accumulated the following stats; on Offense, (17) receptions, (121) yards, and (2) touchdowns. On Defense, (40) tackles, (2) fumble recoveries.
Talking about the upcoming season, McCumby stated, "I'm looking forward to this year a lot, and now that I know what to expect I'm going to go out there and do what I have always done. I can't wait to play in front of my friends and family again, and I love playing in front of our home crowd, the fans here are the best out of any other IFL fans I have seen."
