Grizzlies Announce 2007 Opening Day Roster

Fresno, CA- The Fresno Grizzlies have announced their roster for the 2007 home opener against the Portland Beavers on Thursday, April 5 at 7:05pm.

Highlighting this season's roster will be pitcher Tim Lincecum, the Giants 1st round selection of the 2006 draft and infielder Scott McLain, who was named the Pacific Coast League's Most Valuable Player in 2006 while with the Sacramento River Cats.

Other newcomers include power-hitting third baseman Justin Leone who hit 20 homeruns with the Portland Beavers in 2006, and Australian pitcher Travis Blackley who the Giants acquired Sunday morning from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for former Grizzlies outfielder Jason Ellison.

The 2007 roster will see the return of pitchers Matt Palmer, Patrick Misch, Erick Threets, Matt Kinney, Billy Sadler, and Brian Wilson. The Grizzlies will also boast a strong outfield core consisting of Fred Lewis, Daniel Ortmeier, Nate Schierholtz, and Clay Timpner.

The 2007 Grizzlies will be led by manager Dan Rohn who joins the team for his first season and pitching coach Mike Caldwell a former Major League pitcher who also joins the team for the first time. Hitting coach Jim Bowie returns for his third season with the club.
