Wheeling, WV- The 2002 NIFL National Champion Ohio Valley Greyhounds are pleased to announce the signing of Charles "CJ" Johnson.

Johnson, a 5'11", 192 pound defensive back from Texas Tech, will make his NIFL debut with the Greyhounds. CJ started all 13 games for the Red Raiders in 2001. Johnson earned Big XII defensive player of the week twice. In 2001, CJ recorded 3 interceptions and 73 tackles. Johnson also started at corner in the 2001 Alamo Bowl vs Iowa.

As a junior at Tech, Johnson started 3 games at corner and earned his reputation as a "hitter" on special teams.

Johnson attended Blinn Junior College, where he earned Prepstar "Super Juco 75" honors. CJ was recruited heavily as a junior transfer by such schools as Iowa, Michigan, University of Hawaii, Ole Miss and Texas Tech.

Johnson holds two degrees from Texas Tech in Communication and Broadcast Journalism.
